A woman is charged with the murder of a 3-month-old girl in a car accident last month.
Anova Fairfax Hospital said Monday that the baby girl was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It’s unclear what caused the crash, but Fairfax County Coroner Dr. Michael Burd said he found a small metal object in the rear seat of the car and that the child was “naturally shaken.”
The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they found the child’s body in the front seat of a vehicle that was struck by a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old woman.
The vehicle was stopped on Interstate 80 near the Fairfax Fairfax International Airport in Richmond, Virginia.
