King County hospital’s death toll rises to four after massive fire

Three people died when a fire broke out at King County Hospital in Seattle, Washington, authorities said.

The fire erupted about 4 p.m.

Thursday at the King County Health System, said Capt. Matt Haney.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

The hospital has been closed since Wednesday.

The hospital has more than 6,000 beds, including a new operating room, Haney said.

Haney said the hospital has received more than 2,000 calls about the fire and the city has been told to be on alert.

The King County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
