A friend of a loved ones who was stabbed to death in an apparent act of hate has left a memorial of flowers at a hospital in Georgia.
The friend, who asked not to be identified, says she’s been told to stay home because she can’t afford the $200 to visit.
The family of the man was not able to attend the memorial, and she hasn’t been able to visit her husband or kids since.
The woman said she was told to “put a mask on” while visiting her.
A friend who was injured in the attack said she’s hoping that the hospital will offer her a place to stay in the future.
“I’ve just been told I can stay here until they can find a place for me,” the woman said.
The incident took place on Wednesday at the University of Virginia, and police said it was a hate crime.
