Liverpool have signed midfielder Tom Cleverley, midfielder Jordon Ibe and midfielder Jordan Rossiter from Borussia Dortmund, as the Reds look to bounce back from their disappointing Europa League exit.
The Reds will also sign midfielder Martin Skrtel from Bayer Leverkusen, who was released by the Bundesliga club on Friday.
“This transfer is very exciting for Liverpool FC,” Klopp said.
“Jordan Rossiter and Jordon will provide us with depth in the midfield.”
Tom Cleverley and Tom Carroll will provide a lot of experience to our team, and we’re confident that we can provide that with our players.
“Cleverley and Ibe have made their debuts for Liverpool in the Europa League, with Ibe featuring in the Champions League, while Rossiter scored the winner in the first leg of the Champions league last weekend.”
It will be a great opportunity for us to improve. “
We know how important it is to be in the competition.
A long-term commitment from the Bundesliga to the club has helped the Reds overcome a lack of Champions League football in recent years.”
I’m very excited to be back with Liverpool and to play with my team-mates.”
A long-term commitment from the Bundesliga to the club has helped the Reds overcome a lack of Champions League football in recent years.
They have not finished in the top four since 2005 and have finished bottom of the table five times.
However, Klopp believes the club can still make a run in the league with a fresh crop of players.
“Our team has the quality to do very well in this competition,” he said.
Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Bayern Munich in their Europa League group stages.
Liverpool’s next match is away to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
